Arlene Wilcox Hepworth
Mesquite, Nevada – Arlene Wilcox Hepworth, age 83, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, in Mesquite, Nevada, from complications of dementia. She was born October 3, 1942, in Heyburn, Idaho, to Wilford Hanks Wilcox and Lillian Idella Lee. She married Alan Mann Hepworth on August 27, 1962, in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple.
Arlene was a woman of profound faith and an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. Her devotion was evident in her extensive service, including serving two full-time LDS missions and serving as a temple worker at the Bountiful Temple for many years. She held numerous callings within the Church and was known for her tireless commitment to her faith.
An accomplished musician, Arlene shared her talents as a dedicated piano teacher, influencing the lives of countless students over the years. Her music was a cornerstone of her faith and service; she served as the organist in nearly every ward where she lived, uplifting members with her gift.
She is survived by her husband, Alan M. Hepworth of Mesquite, Nevada; her children: Kay Hepworth, Ilene Hill (Jonathan Hill) of Mesquite, Nevada, Michael Hepworth (Tamara Bement) of Layton, Utah, Annette Hardy of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mark Hepworth (LuAnn Tolbert) of Layton, Utah, Jill Thompson (Jason Thompson) of North Salt Lake, Utah, and Vaughn Hepworth (Marissa Smith) of Layton, Utah; 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Le Roy Wilcox (Susan) of Syracuse, Utah; Richard Wilcox (Connie) of Twin Falls, Idaho; Joyce Lawyer (Phillip) of Springville, Utah; and Jay Wilcox (Cherie) of Jerome, Idaho.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Wilford Hanks Wilcox and Lillian Idella Lee, and her siblings, Esther Wilcox, Gene Wilcox, and Francis Wilcox (Margaret).
A Remembrance Open House will be Thursday, February 19th 5:00-7:00pm at the LDS Stake Center, 100 N Arrowhead Ln in Mesquite, Nevada. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery in Bountiful, Utah. We invite family and friends to leave condolences or memories at www.starmortuary.com.
