Robert Henry McCord, Jr., 51, of Houston, Texas, earned his angel wings, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
Born in Houston, Texas, Robert - affectionately known as Bobby - was the eldest of three children born to the late Robert Henry McCord, Sr. and Anna Maria Rodriguez. Bobby is survived by his wife, Wanda Rene' and two children Mason Dean and Dylan Lucas; sisters: Michelle Louise Davis (& husband Leroy Davis) and Anna Lillian McCord to which he was a caring brother who will forever cherish his wisdom, warmth, and sense of humor. His large and loving extended family includes nieces: Madeleine, Sarah, Olivia and Brianna; nephew: Matthew and great nephew: Jacob; an uncle; several aunts and countless cousins.
Bobby built a successful career in human resources, sharing his professionalism, compassion, and work ethic with every team he joined. Over the years, he held key roles in Loss Prevention at Montgomery Wards, Lowe's Home Improvement and transitioned into Human Resources while at Lowe's then moved to Conn's HomePlus and most recently at OnPoint Industrial Services, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
In January 2006, Bobby met the love of his life, Wanda Rene Swanson. Their deep connection was undeniable, and they were married later that year on December 7th. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in devotion to one another and mutual support. Bobby's proudest role was that of husband and father and his family was the light of his life and the center of his world.
For 14 years, Bobby was an active and dedicated volunteer with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo's Corral Club - East Club (B Team) where he found joy in community service, fellowship, and celebrating the spirit of Texas.
To know Bobby was to love him. He was a great person, a good man, and a great friend - one of the kindest souls you could ever meet. His gentle spirit, heart of gold, and steadfast presence made him a provider, a protector, and a family man in every sense of the word. He touched many lives with his generosity, humor, and quiet strength. Heaven has truly gained its anticipated angel.
Bobby will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. with family and friends being received starting at 11:00 a.m. at Deer Park Funeral Directors, 336 E San Augustine St., Deer Park, TX 77536.
