Robert Dale McCormick

Robert “Dale” McCormick passed away on the 11th of December, 2025. He was born on December 25th, 1958, to the late Robert Emmit McCormick and Zena Lillian Parker. Dale had a passion and a deep knowledge of tractors. He loved attending tractor pulls and knew everything about tractor parts and working on them. Not only was Dale great with tractors, but he was a wonderful mechanic when it came to working on cars, lawnmowers, airplanes, and anything that had an engine.

In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Hardy; and his brother, Paul McCormick. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary McCormick; sons, Joseph McCormick, John (Holly) McCormick; daughters, Sandra Noe, Donna East; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Kay (Ronda Lee) Brown.

A visitation will be held on December 14th, 2025, from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M at the Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville. A funeral service will take place proceeding the visitation in the Gentry Family Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dale’s provider, Betsy Brais; Dr. Hines and her wonderful staff at the Cancer Center of Mt. Airy; the caring staff of the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home of Dobson; sister-in-law, Glenda East; and special friends Linda Manring, and Katie Stanley. The staff of Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville will be serving the McCormick family.
