John McCormick, age 87, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, in Katy, Texas. He was born on July 11, 1938, in Winnipeg, Canada.

John lived a life marked by dedication to family, learning, and the simple joys that brought people together. On August 20, 1960, he married the love of his life, Barbara, in Winnipeg, Canada. Their marriage spanned more than six decades and was filled with partnership, laughter, and unwavering support.

In 1970, John attended California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. His education reflected his lifelong curiosity and commitment to personal growth.

John had many passions that brought him happiness throughout his life. He loved sports, particularly soccer and ice hockey, and enjoyed following the games as well as sharing that enthusiasm with others. He was also an avid photographer who appreciated capturing life's moments through his lens. Music was another great joy for John; he enjoyed playing both the guitar and the banjo, often filling his home with music.

Above all, John cherished his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara; and his two sons, Jonathan of Utah and Cameron of Georgia. He will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, and the many memories he created with those he loved.

John's life was one of quiet strength, curiosity, and love for family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
