Robert Sharon McDaniel, 86, of North Vernon, passed peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Born on March 20, 1939, in Marion County, he was the son of the late Elzie and Dorothy (Macey) McDaniel. He married Vickie Lovitt on April 27, 1985, in Shelbyville; she survives.

Robert worked and retired from Bill's Mobile Homes in North Vernon from 1988-1996, remodeling trailers' and had also worked several years for Shelby Shell Service Station in Shelbyville. He was a member of Queensville Community Church. Robert enjoyed fishing, working on cars, cutting and splitting wood and spending time with his family.

Surviving with his wife of 40 years, Vickie; are his sons, Robert E. McDaniel and Eric C. (Tasha) Armstrong, both of North Vernon; his daughter, Trish Morris of North Vernon; grandchildren, Jonathan Cole Armstrong, Brianna Herald, Johnathan T. Murdock, Terry Day, Michael Day, and Nathasha Morris, all of North Vernon; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Allen E. (Shanna) Lovitt of North Vernon; sisters-in-law, Rhonda (Tracy) Fields of North Vernon, Danita (Gil) Whittier of Michigan, and Cindy (Dean) Wagoner of St. Paul and his former wife, Linda McDaniel of Shelbyville. To all of our nieces and nephews and our special adopted family members, we want you to know that Robert "Bobby" loved each and every one of you.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald (Patty) McDaniel.

A celebration of life is planned for 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Queensville Community Church with a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. Cremation is planned with no burial at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Robert for funeral expenses or to the Queensville Community Church.
