Robert Brian "Bob" McElwain

Robert Brian "Bob" McElwain, age 72 years, a resident of Kerens, WV departed this life Saturday afternoon, October 25, 2025 at the Holbrook Healthcare Center at Buckhannon, WV. He had been in declining health.
He was born Thursday, July 2, 1953 at Elkins, WV a son of the late Charles Rease McElwain and Geneva Cayton McElwain. On December 21, 1990 at Elkins, WV he was married to the former Anna Anita Phillips, who survives. Also surviving are one brother, Charles McElwain and wife Leona of Kerens; three brothers in law and two sisters in law including his favorite, Louanna Summerfield of Hendricks; special niece, Jessica Vandavender of Kerens; favorite nephew whom he thought of as a son, Brian McElwain of Kerens; nephews wife and caregiver, Linda McElwain of Kerens; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1971 and attended Mechanics School. He had worked as a mechanic for K-Mart and was a volunteer firefighter for the Leading Creek Fire Department for twenty years. Robert enjoyed welding and loved his wife very much.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 to 6 PM, Tuesday, October 28. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Kevin Gainer will officiate and interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Country Club Road, Elkins, WV.
