Robert McKinney Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Crematory on Mar. 20, 2026.
Robert Alan McKinney aka Backwoods and Three Toes, 65 years old, was born in Wauchula, Florida on April 17, 1960, and passed away on March 13, 2026. He had been a resident of Okeechobee, Florida since 1985.

He was stubborn and rough around the edges, but he had a tender soul. He loved the outdoors and cherished every moment spent with his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football, tinkering with anything he could get his hands on, and always had a prank up his sleeve. Above all, he will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the time he spent making memories with them.

Mr. McKinney was preceded in death by his father, William Ocie McKinney, Sr.; mother, Mary Ellen Cowart; and son, Randy Alan McKinney.

He is survived by his significant other of 22 years, Ann "Shelly" Guerrette; three daughters, Andrea Faith McKinney, Amanda Marie Timmons, and Brandy Lee McKinney; two known grandchildren, Tucker Aaron Daughtrey and William Allen Timmons; brother, William Ocie McKinney, Jr.; sister, Pamela McKinney McManus; beloved niece, Marci McKinney Hicks; and many other nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Paynes Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Bowling Green, Florida, followed by a gathering at Paynes Creek Historic State Park. The date will be announced.
