CMSGT Robert Alec "Ret." Merritt Jr. USAF

CMSGT Robert Alec Merritt, Jr., USAF (Ret.) age 93 of San Antonio went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 29, 2026. He was born February 24, 1932 in San Marcos, Texas to Robert Alec Merritt, Sr. and Ilde New Merritt who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lynn Merritt and his son, Gary Dean Merritt. He is survived by his children, Rebecca Vinyard and her husband, Patrick and Paul Merritt and his wife, Susan; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jackie, Christopher, Shelley, Brooke, Justin, Tommy, Brittney and Bailie; great grandchildren, Alexander, Summer, Aiden, Caleb, Holden, Ryan, Camden, Willow, Connor, Rosie, Eleanor, Ruby, Lainey and Arthur; great great granddaughter, Isabella; nieces and nephew, Tracy Perelli, Michael Hobert and Donna Tanton; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

SERVICES

Visitation will begin at 11:30 A.M. followed by the Service at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at 1:30 P.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
