Robert Donald Midkiff

Robert Donald Midkiff, 84 of Kirbyville passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Harbor Hospice in Jasper.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 pm Saturday, February 15 at the funeral home.
Born March 21, 1940 to Grady Midkiff and Ola (Shaw), he was retired from Jasper Newton Electric as a general office manager. Donald fiercely loved his family and friends, and was always happiest when he could share his love of cooking and hunting with others. Coming from a family of cooks and even serving as a cook in the Army, Donald loved nothing more than feeding people and was always eager to cook a meal for anyone. Those who knew Donald can attest to his love of feeding others and his readiness to fry another egg for a hunter or have a meal prepared for those coming to visit. Donald also had a deep love and appreciation for hunting. He was a member of his deer lease since the 70's. Whether it was time spent hunting alone, or with other hunters around a camp sharing stories, Donald was always happiest being with anyone who shared his love of those woods.
He is survived by wife, Doris Midkiff; daughter, Laurie Midkiff Jordan; grandchildren, Heath Wierck and Jace Jones.
