Robert "Bob, Bobby" John Midyett, age 70 years, 5 months and 30 days, of Byrnes Mill, Missouri, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 7, 2025 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 8, 1955 in Rolla, Missouri to Robert "Bob" Midyett and Kathryn Brown Midyett.

Bob grew up and went to school in the St. Louis area, attending McCluer High School and graduating with the class of 1973. His fondest childhood memories were of his time spent with family in Steelville, MO. This was evident by how enthusiastically he shared stories from those times with his children and grandchildren.

On October 3, 1975, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Karen Gehrin, and to this union two sons were born.

Bob dedicated 45 years of service to Ford Steel in Maryland Heights, retiring in 2019. Over the decades, he formed deep friendships with colleagues who became like a second family to him.

Bob had a passion for history and enjoyed researching the lineage of his family. He was a member of the Spirit of St. Louis Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) and a member of the Trail of Tears Committee in Steelville, MO.

Bob found joy in the outdoors - whether target shooting, hunting, or fishing he cherished every moment spent outdoors. Above all, he treasured time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Kathryn Midyett.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen Midyett; two sons, Chris (Jenny) Midyett of Fenton, MO and Patrick (Katie) Midyett of Bennington, NE; three grandchildren, Karlee (Steven) Sutton, Tyler Midyett, and Anna Midyett; two great-grandchildren, Raiden and Logan; other relatives; and many friends.

The Family will receive other family members and friends for a Memorial Gathering from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home.

Bob chose cremation as the final disposition.

The Midyett Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Steelville Trail of Tears Remembrance Committee in Memory of Bob. Donate – Steelville Trail Of Tears
