His contributions to youth organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America, Friends of Scouting were significant, as was his involvement with the Jefferson County Library Board, where he served as President. Robert participated in the St. Louis Post Dispatch Old Newsboy Day, connecting his community service with his strong social values.

Robert was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in DeSoto, Missouri, where he served as a deacon and created strong connections within the congregation.
