Robert M. Miller

Robert M. Miller, age 83, passed away peacefully in his home on November 6th,2025, with his family at his side.
Robert is survived by his wife, of 64 years, Barbara Miller, his sons Jeffrey Adam Miller and Robert Surgent Miller (Jacey), his Grandson, Travis Miller, Granddaughters, Sadie and Lena Miller, his brother William Miller (Diane), his sister Cecilia Da Ros, and many loving nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Frank and Cecilia Miller, his sons Sean and Francis Miller, his daughter Veronica Miller, his sisters Mary Miller and Ruth Malafronte (Vincent).
Bob (as he was known by many), was born in Whitestone, NY, on December 21, 1941. He graduated from St. Helena's HS, in Bronx, NY, in June of 1959, and joined the US Navy in July of 1959. Bob and Barbara, childhood sweethearts, married in June of 1961. He served in the Navy honorably until 1978 when he retired. He loved the Navy and the travel it afforded him. He was heard many times joking that "he had been all over the world and parts of Georgia". Bob was a Personnel man on four ships: USS Elokomin, AO-55, USS Forest Royal DD-872, USS Forrestal CVA-59, and USS Eisenhower CVN-6. He and Barbara also spent 3 years in London, England and two tours of duty (beginning in 1965 and then 1971) in Orlando, Florida. This enabled his five children to grow up in the Sunshine state.
After he retired from the Navy, he was employed by the US Postal Service. He filled an assortment of positions but his favorite, by far, was his position as Employee Assistance Professional (EAP). He found it very rewarding and was able to help many people. Bob retired from the Postal Service in 1997. He finally had time for fishing, golfing, cooking, running, playing poker, and spending time with his family, friends, neighbors and eventually his grandchildren. Bob was loved and will be missed by many for his kindness and wit.
A Visitation and Viewing will be held on Friday, November 21st, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory (9001 N. Orlando Ave., Maitland FL 32751). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, by Father Richard Walsh, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (526 N. Park Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789).
