Robert Edward Miller Sr.

Robert Miller Sr., born in Detroit, Michigan, to the union of Edward and Florence Miller, passed away unexpectedly on February 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, compassion, and love. Robert dedicated many years to working as a furniture salesman, where he built lasting relationships with customers and colleagues alike.

An honorable Army veteran, Robert's military service deeply impacted his life. After returning from the service, he continued to honor his commitment to his fellow veterans by working with the Veterans of America, providing military honors to homeless veterans in the Las Vegas area, where he resided for many years. His heart for service extended into his community, as he volunteered at numerous Catholic charities and provided chaplain services at the Macomb County Jail for a time.

In 2021, Robert moved back to Michigan to be closer to his beloved family, where he was able to forge new memories with them.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Florence Miller; his siblings, Larry F. Miller, Steve Miller, Guy W. Miller, and Roger Miller; and his cherished daughter, Florence Miller.

He is survived by his loving children: Maxine Cook, Robert Miller Jr., and Crystal (Kenny) Bitler. He took great pride in his grandchildren: Lisa Cook, Jamie (Chris) Hayes, Gabriel Cook, Hallie Miller, Emily (Stephanie) Miller, Jacob (Victoria) Miller, Andrew Bitler, William Bitler, John Elrod, and Aimee Bomberry. Robert was also a devoted great-grandfather to Alice Hayes, Molly Walker, Ashton Walker, Kallie Walker, Jacob Elrod, and Tyler Elrod.

Robert Miller Sr. will be fondly remembered for his dedication to his family, his commitment to serving others, and the love he spread throughout his life.
