Robert Mills Obituary
02/17/1931 - 06/25/2025
Robert Dalton Mills, a lifelong resident of Berkeley, California, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, at the age of 94.
Born and raised in Berkeley, Robert attended San Francisco State University before serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed a long career in technology, working as a systems analyst and later as a civilian computer programmer for the U.S. Navy's NARDAC.
In 1956, he married Eva Caroline Sung, and together they raised three children: Allan Mills, Virginia Shogren (Karl), and Stephen Mills (Zoe Maduros). Robert was a devoted grandfather to eight, great-grandfather to four, and is also survived by his sister Susan Beattie, brother-in-law William Sung, and many nieces and nephews.
A lover of literature, music, theatre, sports, woodworking, and travel, Robert will be remembered for his wit, kindness, and deep love of family and desserts.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6 at 2 pm at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Berkeley.
