It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Robert G. Moffat at his home in Boston, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 7, 1934 to the late Gladys Matthews Tanzos and Howard L. Moffat. Robert proudly served 40 years at Bell Telephone Company and was a member of the Pioneers Organization of Bell Telephone. He was a member of the Crow’s Nest Social Club and a frequent patron of White Oak American Legion, especially on karaoke night. Throughout his life he was a member of both Mary Mother of God Catholic Church and Buena Vista Presbyterian Church. Robert was known as “The Captain” and “SpongeBob” due to his entertaining personality and perfect singing voice. Sadly, the microphone is silent. The Captain has sung his final song. Robert left an invisible mark on the hearts of everyone he touched. His door was always open, welcoming all with open arms. He was a shining example of joy, love and laughter, illuminating every gathering with his presence. A kind and gentle soul, he embodied the true meaning of family love.
