Robert "Bob" Moore

After a valiant battle against cancer, Robert "Bob" Moore passed peacefully to a pain free eternal rest on May 28, 2024 with his devoted family at his bedside. We are brokenhearted at the loss of our beloved husband and father and must now learn to navigate a new world without our life coach.Born in Nashville on June 29th, 1951, he left for Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee where he received a master's degree in mechanical engineering, but his wisdom extended far beyond his academic and professional achievements. Aristotle held that it is impossible to be wise without being good, and Bob embodied this virtue.Bob's talent as a fixer of all things broken was appreciated by family and friends alike. His love of blues and beer made him a regular at the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Other favorite destinations were Costa Rica rainforests and volcanoes, Virgin Island beaches, and Smoky Mountain trails. His Watts Bar lake cabin became a much loved home away from home where his Ten Mile friends became extended family.Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Terri; devoted daughters, Ashley (Troy Helton), and Audrey (Daniel Wohl); and his extraordinary grandchildren, Brighton, Eliza, and Anastasia. Bob is also survived by his Nashville brothers, John Moore (Pam Pitts), Steve Moore (Kathy), and Rick Moore (Cheryl); dozens of nieces and nephews; special New Orleans family, Cheryl and Terry Sultzer; and lifelong friends, David, Charlie, Al, Shannon, and Walter.Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but the life lessons his family and special friends have gained from the insight of our devoted sage will live forever in our hearts.A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at a later date with details provided once arrangements are finalized.Read Obituary
