Obituary published on Legacy.com by Justen Funeral Home & Crematory - McHenry on Feb. 2, 2026.
Robert William Morris, known to his family and friends as Bob, left this world on January 19, 2026, at the age of 50. Born on December 11, 1975, in
Arlington Heights, Illinois, Bob's larger than life presence brought light and warmth to all who knew him.
When Bob had his heart set on something, he was all in. His passion for BMX bikes was well-known among his friends and family. He was especially proud of the bikes he custom built for Lexi and Ty. His enthusiasm for RC cars turned this grown man into a young boy where he spent many hours with Ty racing, crashing, rebuilding, and laughing. Water soothed Bob, whether it was a majestic ocean, serene lake, or flowing river. There was a special place in Bob's home and heart for animals. It didn't matter if they had fur, scales or fins. The art of cooking which he shared with Lexi, particularly barbecuing, was where he found his true calling. The smoker was his altar, and meats of all kinds were his offerings. He knew exactly how to get people to gather round eagerly anticipating the mouthwatering flavors that Bob would create.
Bob is survived by his two children, Alexandra (Lexi) and Tyler (Ty) who were his greatest pride and joy. His father Steven, bother Matthew (Lelia), Nephew Garrett,
and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Bob joined his mother Susan, his grandparents, and few great dogs as they preceded him in death. The values they instilled in him remained a guiding force throughout his life.
Through Bob's journey on this earth, he faced challenges and battles, but that never defined who he was nor how we remember him. Our hearts recall his kindness, laughter, sarcasm, and his legendary barbecue that will be recounted for generations. In the hearts of those who loved him, Robert W. Morris will forever be remembered, cherished and dearly missed.
