Mr. Robert Emmet Murphy

Robert Emmet Murphy left us on June 22, 2015 at the age of 91 after a brief illness, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church. He was born January 7, 1924 in Saint Louis, MO, son of John T. Murphy and Lillian (Benda) Murphy. Loving husband for sixty-six years to the late Margaret "Marge" Murphy (nee Welek), dear father of the late Michael Charles Murphy, devoted father and father-in-law of Peggy (Sal) DiCarlo, Kathy (Jay) Lewis, Jeanne (Steve) O'Neal, Patrick (Ellen) Murphy, Nancy (Arthur) Culbert, and Maureen (Bob) McCann. Loving grandfather to Nick (Kara) DiCarlo, Christie (Joe) Gallo, Brian (Beth) O'Neal, Christopher (Andreea) Lewis, Brendan (Carla) O'Neal, Tory DiCarlo, Meghan (Andrew) Schulte, Michael (Sarah) Lewis, Beth Patton, Colleen Murphy, Michael Murphy, Katie Patton, ten great-grandchildren, dear brother of Patricia (Murphy) Cochran, dear brother in-law of Betty (Welek) Tracy and Mary (Welek) Atwell and Ginny Welek. Preceded in death by his brother John T. (Shirley) Murphy Jr., sister Marian (Bill) Brown, sister in-law Jeanne (Tom) Quinn, brother-in-laws Charles F. Welek Jr. and lack Tracy. Graduated from THE high school-St. Louis University High School, attending Washington University and St. Louis University, served in the Navy and is a veteran of WW II Bob spent his career in the marketing and advertising field with early years at Anheuser Busch and the better part of his career at D'Arcy Advertising. Bob served on the Mid-America Transplant Services Board of Directors and he and his wife Marge were honored with the naming and dedication of the MTS Family House serving organ transplant recipients and their families. Loving uncle, great-uncle, and friend to many. Bob's humor, genuine interest in others, and caring nature inspired all who knew him. He will live in our hearts forever. Services: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 26 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement of Rome, 1015 Bopp Road, Des Peres, Missouri, 63131.
