Robert S. Naranjo, a lifelong resident of Merced County, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026. Robert was born in Modesto, California to Elisa and Angel Naranjo on October 8, 1932. He worked with the local School District for many years. Robert was married to his wife, Isabel, for 58 years and they raised their three children in Winton, California.

After his retirement, Robert and Isabel enjoyed traveling together. They especially enjoyed the Pacific Northwest, especially Seattle, Washington. They also enjoyed traveling to San Diego, Reno and Las Vegas. One of his favorite spots was Hawaii where he would spend several months with his son. Robert loved fishing, camping, and gardening. He most enjoyed sharing the love of the outdoors with his family. Robert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Mr. Naranjo is survived by his children, Robert Naranjo, Jr. of Fresno, Bernard Naranjo of San Bruno, Patsy Ybarra of Atwater, and several beloved extended family members. He leaves his cherished grandson Andrew Ybarra. He was proceeded in death by his wife Isabel and grandson Anthony Ybarra.
