Robert Arthur Neyra was born on February 15, 1956, in Naperville, Illinois, to James William Neyra and Suzanne Lee Neyra. He resided in Royse City, Texas, where he dedicated his life to his family, his faith, and his passion for education.
Robert was a devoted member of Northplace Church in Sachse, Texas, where he found great purpose in ministry. He was deeply committed to serving others and spent nearly 20 years serving in prison ministry. He was recognized with the State of Texas Governor's Criminal Justice Volunteer Service Award in both 2018 and 2021 for his impactful work inside the prisons. His dedication to helping others transform their lives was a true testament to his character and unwavering faith.

His sharp mind and passion for mathematics made him a mentor to many, and his legacy as an educator will live on in the lives of those he taught.
Outside of teaching, Robert was an avid gardener who found joy in growing plants and nurturing life in every form. He was a devoted Dallas Stars hockey fan and never missed a chance to cheer for his team. A true Grateful Dead enthusiast, he found comfort in the music of Jerry Garcia, often sharing his favorite songs with friends and family.
Robert entered his heavenly home on February 24th, 2025. He is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Caraway, and brothers, James Neyra and Joseph Neyra.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Neyra of Royse City, TX, and his children: Robert Neyra and spouse Calli Neyra of Caddo Mills, TX, Joshua Prunty and spouse Elina Prunty of Dallas, TX, Jillian Croasdale and spouse Joshua of Forney, TX, Logan Dickens of Austin, TX, Taylor Dickens and Zach Conley both of Malakoff, TX.

To this day I am still processing your home calling, I fully know you are in the very presence of the Lord my friend. I will forever miss the last 15 years of our friendship on the AD Hughes, Mountain View and Hilltop units, the lives you and Susan touched and changed with the love of Christ Jesus through your ministry, Disciples4Christ. Susan, I am praying for you and family, may our God of comfort, comfort each of you with His loving arms and presence. I thank the Lord for the time I knew Bob as friend and mostly my brother in Christ Jesus, I can hear the words "well done good and faithful servant"
