Nicks, Robert Glenn - Age 90, of Grand Blanc, died August 16, 2023. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, August 22 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc. (A livestream will be available on Robert's page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com) Interment will be held at 1 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery 4200 N. Belford Rd. Holly. Visitation will be held 3-7 PM Monday, August 21; and 10 AM Tuesday, August 22 until the time of the service at 11 AM. Those desiring may make contributions to The Wounded Warrior Project.
Robert was born September 3, 1932 in Stayton, TN, the son of Robert Herchal and Edith M. (Milan) Nicks. He was a Flint Central High School graduate. Robert proudly served his country in The United States Navy during the Korean War. He married Joan M. Flint on December 15, 1956 in Mt. Morris, she preceded him in death on January 6, 2023. Robert worked for General Motors V-8 Engine plant for 34 as a machine repairmen before retiring in 1990. He was a life member of VFW Post in Flushing. Robert enjoyed his grandchildren, walking and running. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Ann Nicks of Tawas City; grandchildren, Meagan McGraw, Corie Stewart, Joshua Stewart; great-grandchildren, Robert Aldridge, Olivia Poynter, Jerri-Lynn Joan Stewart, Cooper Clark, Braiden Whaley. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; great granddaughter, Elizabeth Jade Aldridge; brother, James Nicks; and wife Joan.
