Robert Charles North

Robert Charles North (Bob) went to heaven to be with our Lord and Savior on March 12, 2026.

Robert Charles North (Bob), 75, of Wheeling, WV, formerly of West Alexander, PA, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on March 12, 2026.

He was born on March 11, 1951, in Washington, PA, the son of the late Donald Avery North and Velma (Guess) North. He was a 1969 graduate of McGuffey High School. After graduating, he continued his education at the National Auto Diesel College.

In 1996, Bob married the love of his life, Bonnie (Lilley) North; they shared 30 special years together.

Bob worked at Millcraft Steel Mill, where he retired. He came out of retirement to become a truck driver for Dandy for 2 years, then for 17 years with Shawarman Trucking. While working for Shawarmen Trucking, Bob met his best friend, Chuck Ullom.

Bob was also a former assistant chief of the West Alexander Fire Department and a former Church Deacon at West Alexander Presbyterian Church.

He enjoyed many things, but family time was always his favorite. Although he had many grandchildren, Kiersten Jones, "Sunshine," and Levi Garrett, "little man" held a very special place in his heart.

Aside from family time, Bob enjoyed farming, woodworking, old cars, and tractors. He would wait all year for the West Alexander Fair, where he enjoyed talking to and seeing old and new friends. He often liked telling and listening to old stories about him and his siblings, his mom and dad, and his grandparents. Anyone who knew Bob always enjoyed laughs when he was around.

He was a very proud husband, dad, grandpap, and great grandpap.

In addition to his parents, Bob is now reunited with his sister, Rebecca Lemasters, and his stepdaughter, Lisa Lilley.

He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie, children Carl North (Stephanie), Robert C. North, Jr. (Trudy), Evey Jones (Nick), Yvette Duffield (Cory), and Valerie Dillie (Ben); 12 grandchildren,

Morgan, Jacob, Leah, and Hayden North, Caitlyn, Gloria, and Aubrey Dillie, Kiersten and Dylan Jones, Morgan Hooker (Kleeh), and Jaden Duffield (Eden) and Ayla Duffield; 3 great-grandchildren Levi Garrett Beck, Raylynn and Weston James Hooker, and Grayson Duffield; siblings Dave North, Donald Avery North, Jr. (Michelle), and Susan Kempes (Ross); a brother-in-law Greg Lemasters; and Many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA, 15323.
