Robert Dillon O'Boyle Jr.

Robert Dillon O'Boyle Jr., 73, of Baltimore, MD, passed away, Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
Born Wednesday, January 23, 1952, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Robert Dillon O'Boyle, Sr., and the late Jane Butler (Weaver) O'Boyle.
Bob was a graduate from North Hagerstown High School, class of 1970. Bob earned his Professional Photographer certification at the Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology in Dayton, Ohio.
He held jobs as a Professional Photographer at Fairchild Republic as the company photographer, and was contracted by the Associated Press (AP) for photo assignments in the Baltimore / Washington area.
His photographs were displayed in a number of shows in the Dayton, Ohio area, and were exhibited at the 1978 Park Arts Festival at Hagerstown's City Park. Bob's work was also exhibited at Hagerstown Junior College's "Area Artistry Series" in their Library for a week.
Bob became a "Jack of All Trades", working as a mechanic, a tour guide in Baltimore City, and a truck driver hauling hazardous materials.
Along with his passion for photography, Bob was a Big Fan of the Green Bay Packers, and the Baltimore Orioles.
He is survived by his siblings, Kathleen "Kate" W. (Peter) Newkirk of Winslow ME, Margaret B. Mose of Delphi IN, Peter W. (Susan) O'Boyle, Jane W. Fowler, and Suzi B. O'Boyle of Hagerstown MD, Zebulon B. (Kelly) O'Boyle of New Florence PA, and many nieces and nephews.
Bob also leaves behind close family friend, Andrew Durham of Hagerstown MD, and very dear friend, Jan Shipley of Baltimore, MD.
Services will be held at 12 noon on January 17, 2026, at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North Hagerstown, MD, with Father Bill Garrott, OP officiating.
Friends will be received one hour prior to service.
Interment will be at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, PA. at the convenience of the O'Boyle Family.
