Robert Francis O'Rourke Sr.
"Bob"
O'Rourke, Robert Sr. of Advance, Missouri, was born April 9, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri to Bernard and Lucille (nee Schmees) O'Rourke and entered into rest Thursday, May 8, 2025 in Advance, Missouri at the age of 84 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Lucille (nee Schmees) O'Rourke.
He is survived by his children, Cindy (Rick) Edminston, Betty (Tim) Hill, Wanda Pine, Shari (Jeffrey) Dinkins, Robert (Melinda "Linnie") O'Rourke; grandchildren, Amy, Crystal, Jodie, Chad, Zoey, Marlee, Noah, Serina, Stephanie, Cassie, Timothy "Tim" Jr., Haley, Cody, Dalton, Holley, Jaxon, Jameson, Erika, Ashley, and Danielle; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild with 3 on the way; his siblings, James (Dianne) O'Rourke, Rose (Mark) Arthur, Thomas O'Rourke, Mary Beth Siebert, Michael O'Rourke, and Cathy (Glenn) Otto, and Patricia McCalmon; along with numerous other extended family and friends.
Bob (Bobby to his siblings) loved a simple life and spent much of his time hunting and fishing and the occasional card or pool game. He liked watching old western movies and TV shows and spending time with his grandchildren. He was not afraid of hard work and expected the same of others. Bob's most memorable phrase for the girls was, "Hey baby doll, looking good." He and his great-granddaughter Charley Lane were big buddies who liked to ride on their mule and take care of the chickens. Bob never asked for attention, or anything else for that matter, but was always willing to lend a hand anytime someone asked. He always greeted people with a big smile and hello (unless you had REALLY messed up). That smile will be greatly missed but forever remembered. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary.

To Patsy, Jim, Tom, Mary, Rose, Mike, Cathy and Bob's children and grandchildren:

I am so very sorry for the pain you must be feeling at this time. When I married into your family in 1972 Bob was so kind and welcoming to me. I think he must have known that marrying into such a large family might be intimidating. I remember how funny he was and also how much he loved being around the children. Bob was truly one of a kind and even though I knew him for such a short time, I will never forget him.
