ADRIAN –Robert Avad Ochoa, age 74, passed away in his home, on Sunday, May 12, 2024. On April 11, 1950, he was born to Alejandro and Maria (Avad) Ochoa.
Robert worked as a hilo driver at Conagra Canning Co. He married the love of his life Maria Lozano on October 22, 1994, in Toledo, OH. Robert was a man rich in his faith and was a devout former member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Toledo and current member of Holy Family Parish – St. Mary's Campus in Adrian, Michigan. He helped Maria start and run the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Food Pantry in Toledo. Robert was also a proud member of Latinos Latins United in Toledo. When he wasn't cheering on Ohio State or playing pool you could find him listening to music and dancing with Maria.
Left to honor Robert's memory are wife, Maria; daughters, Laura McGowen, Bridgit Carranza; son, Robert Gutierrez, "adopted" children, Chris Gutierrez, and Debra Gutierrez; brothers, Domingo Ochoa, Jimmy Ochoa, David Ochoa, Henry Ochoa, Daniel Ochoa, and Gilbert Laredo; sisters, Janet Sanchez, Jane Gerity and Suzie Avad; four grandchildren, Haydan McGowen, Andre Trevino, Ashley Grifes, Cameron Trevino and Debbie's two daughters; nine great-grandchildren, Jayden, Trevor (Chantae), Rieley, Ion, Maria, Cruz, Capri, Cash, and Cartier. Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers, Alex and Roy Ochoa, and sister Mary Rios.
Visitation for Robert will be held at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian, Michigan on Thursday May 16, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a vigil prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Campus on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. Immediately after mass there will be a luncheon at Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Campus. Burial will be at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Food Pantry. You may send condolences to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian.
