Robert Olberg died peacefully on March 2. Bob was born on November 17, 1936, to Thor and Ruth Olberg in Chicago. Bob's passion was teaching. He taught school in Deerfield, Il, and Evanston Il. He received a Doctorate from Wayne State University and taught for 30 years at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Il. Bob's spiritual journey began at Camp Awana. While at their high school camp, he accepted Christ as his personal savior.

Two years later at camp Bob met Gwen Shaw and they were married September 7, 1957.

Bob and Gwen loved the Lord and dedicated their lives, family and marriage to service for Him. They loved Camp Awana and served together many years, even up into their eighties, in many different capacities. They also served faithfully in their local church as well as providing leadership and support to the Intervaristy Fellowship on the NIU campus for many years.Bob and Gwen spent many happy years at Word of Life in Florida. They loved the speakers and wonderful fellowship of believers there.

Music was also an important part of Bob's life. He thoroughly enjoyed singing in the Singing Men of Oakbrook for 30 years.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Gwen. He is survived by his 4 children Carolyn VanNatta, Keith Olberg, David Olberg, and Steven Olberg, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Memorials should be given to Word of Life Institute of Hudson, FL.
