Robert Olejarz Obituary

Published by Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home on Mar. 31, 2012.
Robert John Olejarz Age sixty-nine of Jupiter, FL, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Jupiter Medical Center. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he had been a resident of Jupiter for twenty-one years, previously living in Pennsylvania and upstate New York. Bob and his wife Jeanne of forty-eight years also loved spending the summer months at their mountain home in Maggie Valley, NC. After attending Etna High School (when his friends knew him as "Olee") and Clarion State College, Bob proudly served as a U.S. Army sergeant at Fort Sill, OK during the Vietnam War and was responsible for training and maintenance of weapons systems. His military training and his natural abilities to serve and help others guided him to a successful professional career of twenty-five years with General Mills, retiring as the northeast District Sales Manager. He was passionate about golf, gardening, cooking, fitness, and enjoyed bow-fishing from his boat in the Keys. Bob was a life-long Pittsburgh Steelers fan and Sunday afternoon NFL games were memorable times spent with his wife and friends. He and Jeanne traveled throughout the US; they visited Rome, Italy, and took trips to the Bahamas, and were blessed with many wonderful life experiences. Bob made friends wherever and whatever he did, always leaving people smiling and laughing. He was deeply loved by his wife, Jeanne Olejarz of Jupiter; two daughters, Diahann (Michael) Kujawa of Tampa, FL and Lisa (Darren) Van Guilder of Richmond, VA; and five grandchildren, Rachel, Christopher, Johnathan, Emma and Perry, who knew him as "Pop Pop". A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 204 N. US Hwy 1 Tequesta, FL. Friends are invited to meet with the family from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home 250 Center St., Jupiter. The family suggests memorials to the American Red Cross or for the benefit of Vietnam Veterans in lieu of flowers. For directions and online condolences, please visit www.taylorandmodeen.com.
