Robert "Bobby O" Oman, 81, went to be with his Lord on Jan. 23, 2026, after a short but valiant battle with cancer.
Born on Sept. 3, 1944, in Fremont, Ohio, Bob began his career with Whirlpool in 1967, transferring to Whirlpool's Michigan operations in 1974, where he spent the rest of his career. For more than 30 years at Whirlpool, he served in many roles, visited many countries, and formed lifelong friendships.
Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army/Army Reserve. He continued that service at the Stevensville American Legion Post 568, where he was a member of the Honor Guard. He was also a lifelong blood donor. Bob could fix just about anything, restoring an old house with a close friend after retirement.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma (Stine) Oman, whom he married on Nov. 29, 1969, and by his parents: Richard and Lois Oman; and brothers-in-law: Ronald Stine of Arizona, Ken Fleming of Ohio, and Dennis Stine of Illinois.
He is survived by his daughters: Andrea Oman of Stevensville and Beth Oman (Jason Ulrich); step-granddaughters: Kassie and Ani Ulrich of Stillwater, Minn.; his sisters: Carol Baker and Lucretia Fleming, of Ohio; sister-in-law, Marilyn Stine of Illinois; many beloved nieces and nephews and dear friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held in the spring.
Please consider a donation to the Stevensville American Legion Post 568, the Berrien County Cancer Service, or make a life-giving blood donation in his memory.

I´m so sorry to hear about Bob. He was our neighbor across the street here in Stevensville and when we moved into the "purple" house, Bob was the first to walk over and introduce himself and bring over a batch of his fabulous home made gumbo. Always quick to wave hello as he manicured the prettiest lawn in the block. May his soul rest in eternal peace and his family be comforted during this time.

He was there for me when my momma passed and I was there for him when Norma passed which was within a week of each other. Such a good friend and someone you could rely on...more like a father to me ...he will be missed because he was truly loved. Love you Bobby say hi to mom for me...love you.

Uncle Bob you will be missed by so many, you are so special. I am happy you are no longer suffering and are now up in beautiful heaven with God and all our loved ones who I am sure welcomed you with open arms! I am sad for us to longer have you here on earth but at least we have our wonderful memories and know one day we will be reunited. You will always be in our hearts love you Uncle Bob.
