Robert Anthony Ormerod

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Anthony Ormerod of Danielson, CT, 62, on January 2, 2025. Born on his mother's birthday, December 30,1962 in Putnam, CT, he was the eldest son of Robert C. Ormerod formally of Dayville, CT, and Elizabeth R. (Campbell) Ormerod of Wauregan, CT.
He was happily married to Joann L. (Harnois) Steele on July 11, 1998, sharing their lives until she departed in 2018.
Robert graduated high school and attended Harvard H Ellis Technical School, graduating from the Tool & Die program. He worked as a machinist at Pryms in Dayville and was a self-taught auto mechanic, achieving Master Mechanic working at several local dealerships until recently retiring.
Robert enjoyed NASCAR and riding his Harley. He was an avid UCONN and N.E Patriots fan. One of his favorite things to do was spending time with his wife Joann camping at camp on the Crooked River in Maine with their dog "Sissy."
Robert is survived by his mother, Elizabeth; siblings, Cheryl L. Ormerod Ezzell and her partner, Daniel Oleary of Danielson, CT, Marc A. Ormerod and his wife, Sarah N. Ormerod, of Dayville, CT, Russell E. Ormerod of Danielson, CT, Wendy E. Ormerod and her wife, Jen D., of Dayville, CT, Dr. Jennifer K. Ormerod PHD of Nashville, TN, Andre J. Dugas of Wauregan, CT; his daughter Jessica Zadziejko Raduege and husband John Raduege of Thompson, CT; step-daughter, Betty-Jo (Steele) Scott; step-son, Donald Steele; five granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Robert, and his wife Joann.
A Celebration of Life service, followed by a reception, will be held at 1:00 pm at the Central Village Congregational Church, located at 33 Main St., Central Village, CT 06374, On January 18, 2025.
