Robert Dean Osborne

January 2, 1944 – January 14, 2026

Robert Dean Osborne passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, in Mesa, Arizona. He was 82 years old.

Robert was born on January 2, 1944 to J. Hubert and Dorothy May Osborne in Nampa, Idaho. The family had a dairy farm and four sons. Robert was their third. Predeceased by his brother Harrell, Robert is survived by his brothers, Hubert Lee and George.

In 1962, Robert graduated from Meridian High School in Meridian, Idaho, where he was a multi-sport letterman. He played football, basketball, baseball, and ran track. His passion for sports would carry throughout his life.

In August of 1962, Robert married his high school sweetheart, Charlene Deloris Slaughter. Astonishingly, the couple shared a birthday. They also shared a love of family. Later that year, the young couple received their first child.

Robert and Charlene celebrated sixty-one years of marriage before Charlene passed in 2024. They had five children, Brenda Bardino (Anthony), Ginger Stephens (Pete), Crystal Garcia, Rob Osborne (Sarah) and Matt Osborne.

Robert leaves behind nine grandchildren, Robert Garcia, Devon Garcia, Elias Garcia, Ashlyn Lamon, Mason Osborne, Marli Osborne, Clayton Stephens, Ben Stephens, and Race Osborne. He also had three great-grandchildren, Oliver Lamon, Amelia Garcia and Delilah Garcia.

After high school, and with the beginnings of a family, Robert continued his education at the College of Idaho. He briefly attended seminary at Bethany Bible College in California, but returned to the College of Idaho to complete his degree in 1968.

Robert's ambitions then took him to the University of Michigan, where he achieved a Master of Business Administration. Soon after, he became a Certified Public Accountant in his home state of Idaho, and began a career in accounting.

In 1978, Robert relocated the family to sunny Arizona. When he joined Sigler & Faigen in 1984, his financial acumen found a professional home. The HVAC distribution company enjoyed massive growth as Robert oversaw the financial side of the business. Upon his retirement in 2018, Robert was the Chief Financial Officer for Siglers, Inc., which had grown to be the second largest Carrier distributor in the United States.

Robert had a passion for sports and competition. He especially loved football, and was a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Rams. He coached his sons' Pop Warner football teams. He coached YMCA basketball. He played in men's basketball leagues through his forties. With his family, he enjoyed shooting pool and was always up for a game of Uno or Hearts.

In 2002, Robert was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, but he maintained his steady outlook and quirky sense of humor.

Throughout his life, Robert's Christian faith sustained him. He exemplified a dedication to work and family. No doubt, he is reunited with his sweetheart and rejoicing in the legacy that they made together.
