Robert C. Parizeau, 89, of South Windsor, CT passed away on March 7, 2025. Born on November 15, 1935 to the late Eli J. Parizeau and Dorothy Burns (Parizeau) in Rockville, CT. Bob grew up in Willimantic and attended Windham High School, Class of 1953. He later resided in Manchester, Vernon, Woodstock, CT and Sacramento, CA. for many years before making South Windsor his final destination.
Bob leaves behind his children, Cheryl Brown (Steve Kassman), Lisa Colangelo (Joseph), Michael Parizeau (Clarissa) and Jeffrey Parizeau (Kristin); grandchildren, Carmine, Nicholas, Aiden, Sarah, Alicia, Olivia and Ella; stepsister Joanne Breen, stepbrother Charles Nigrelli; nephews, Derek Kramer and John Postler; niece Joy Baez and dear friend Esther Sears. Bob was predeceased by his father, Eli Parizeau; mother, Dorothy Burns; stepfather, Ralph Burns; sisters Judy Kramer and Dorothy Postler; former wife Patricia Parizeau; grandchildren Patricia, Michelle and Michael Parizeau; nephew, Paul Postler.
Bob served his country as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Div. from 1953 to 1956 and later served 7 years as a patrol officer with the Manchester Police Department. In 1972 Bob joined the University of Connecticut Police Department and retired in 1993 with the rank of Lieutenant. After retirement, Bob went on to pursue his goals as a certified Open Water Scuba Diver and a private pilot. Some of his accomplishments included flying cross country round trip from Sacramento, CA to Windham Airport in Willimantic; videotaping the Grand Canyon and Boulder Dam from the air and whale watching while flying up and down the West Coast.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at the Storrs Cemetery, Storrs CT on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 11:00am. If anyone would like to make a donation, Bob requested it be made to www.woundedwarriorproject.org. For an online memorial guestbook please visit www.potterfuneralhome.com.
