MIDDLETOWN SPRINGS- Robert "Bullet" Gerald Parker Sr., 85 of Middletown Springs died Wednesday morning September 17, 2025 at the Pines in Rutland.
He was born on April 16, 1940 in Middletown Springs, the son of Elmer John and Dora (Harrington) Parker.
Robert married Virginia (Dapsis) Rivers on May 25, 1991.
Robert grew up in Middletown Springs. He was employed as a roofer for several years, by Telescope, as a farmer with Ed Baker, then by General Electric Company for 33 ½ years until his retirement in 2000. During his retirement he was employed by the Town of Middletown Spring on the Road Crew for over 20 years.
He joined the Middletown Springs Volunteer Fire Department as a teenager serving for over 50 years on the Department.
Robert was a member of the Middletown Springs Community Church
He loved to spend time with his son and enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing and trimming his lawn.
Survivors include his wife Virginia Parker of Middletown Springs, a son Robert "BJ "Parker Jr. and his significant other Kattie of Marshall, MI, a daughter Wendy, 4 grandchildren Gunner, Mattison, Oakley and Zander, 4 Sisters Sylvia (Norm) Parker, Charlotte (Norvin) Baker, and Nancy Bealmear of Middletown Springs, and Harriet Boyce of Florida, 2 Brothers Earl (Jackie) Parker and Paul (Judy) Parker of Middletown Springs, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his stepson David C. Rivers in 2011 and siblings Jane Dorr, Dorothy Reed, Pauline Parker, Donald Parker, Alton Parker, Edward Parker, Marion Bixby, Agnes Pennock, Carrie Kelly, Charles Parker, William Parker, and Richard Parker.
A celebration of his life will be held 2pm Saturday Oct 4, 2025 at the Middletown Springs Community Church
A reception will follow.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff on the 2nd floor of the Pines and the 5th floor of the Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Arrangements are with the Durfee Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Middletown Springs Community Church or to the American Alzheimer's Association
