Robert Steven "Bob Bobby" Parker

Robert Steven Parker, affectionately known as "Bob" or "Bobby," passed away peacefully but unexpectedly surrounded by his immediate family on Sunday, December 28th, 2025.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, mother Doris McClean, and Clifford and Ethel Parker; twin brother Rick Parker, and sister Christine Gerety.

Left to cherish fond memories are his daughter Jennifer Smith and granddaughters Bailey and Parker of Deep Run; siblings, Kathy (George) Kohut of Bethesda, MD; Judy (Jim) Milke of Columbia, MD, Rick (Sherri) Furr of Wake Forest, as well as lifelong friends Mike Bailey, and Dr. Larry Ray, and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was an avid tennis and basketball player and loved to watch ACC basketball, especially the Duke Blue Devils. He loved spending time on the Carolina beaches and having his monthly breakfast gatherings with close friends.

He will be remembered for his witty comments, quirky remarks, and contagious smile. Most recently, he enjoyed his short visit in Deep Run with his beloved granddaughters.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 2nd, at 3 o'clock at Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest. Following the service, visitors may visit the family at the residence of Rick and Sherri Furr, 520 Rayburn Avenue, Wake Forest, NC.

In the midst of his passing, Bob was able to help others by being an organ/tissue donor.

The family wishes to express their thanks to the Emergency Department staff at UNC Lenoir and to the staff at Wake Med MICU-CVICU who took exceptional and compassionate care of Bob during his short illness.
