Lancaster - Robert "Bob" E. Parrish, 86, died Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the Pickering House in Lancaster.
Bob was born Saturday, November 9, 1935 to the late Howard and Virgie (Downs) Parrish. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and watching OSU football. Bob was a member of Corvettes of Lancaster. He had a love of riding motorcycles in his younger years. Bob was a tool and die worker for Essex Industrial (formerly Herman's), General Motors, and Rockwell. But, he really enjoyed working with his son Steve at Delmont Fleet.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years Jan Parrish; his children Diane Parrish-McGee and Steve (Shena Thomas) Parrish; grandchildren Alana McGee, Adam (Anne) McGee, Nicole (Ryan Kelley) Parrish, Courtney Parrish, and Kylie (Brett) Bentz; great grandchildren Luke McGee, one on the way due in February and Blaire and Baylee Bentz; as well as many other beloved family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law George and Wilda Kost; son-in-law J.J. McGee; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 PM Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St. Lancaster, Ohio 43130. Caring Cremation® will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pickering House, 282 Sells Rd. Lancaster, Ohio 43130. Though Bob was there a short time, the care provided by the Pickering House will be remembered for years to come.
The family would also like to thank FMC, the doctors and wonderful nurses that cared for him.
