Robert Pasini Obituary

Published by Legacy on May 23, 2025.
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Rob on May 10, 2025. Rob was a cherished husband, friend, brother, father, uncle, and grandfather, known for his generosity, passions, and unwaveringly loving spirit.
Born on March 28, 1955 in Detroit, Rob lived a life full of love and laughter. His interests and passions were numerous, as anyone with whom he came in contact could tell you. He was an avid reader and studier, wanting to learn everything he could about the things he loved. Consequently, he was a walking encyclopedia on all things music, sound, drums, football, hockey, baseball, golf, and old movies, as was regularly reflected in every shirt and hat he wore. And as anyone reading this knows, Rob sure loved his Beatles! He could tell you just about anything you would need to know about them. Rob also put his sports prowess to the test in fantasy leagues for 43 straight years and took great pride in his "winning" track record! At home he loved his Ben and Jerry's, Drambuie, and Budweisers, which he always had in full stock. He lit up whenever the conversation turned to any of these topics, reflecting the deep pleasure these passions provided him.
Perhaps more than his love of music and sports was Rob's love of people. He never met a person he couldn't/didn't befriend. He had an illustrious 40+ year career with General Dynamics. Sometimes working three jobs at a time, Rob took great pride in his hard-work ethic. But more importantly for him, these places afforded him the opportunity to meet many wonderful friends, some of whom ultimately became his best life-long bros with whom he enjoyed road trips and regularly met for breakfast. But most impactful for Rob was who he met while drumming in a band (lifelong passion) in 1973–the love of his life Deborah. Rob fell hard, and the two were married for the next 47 years until Deborah's passing in 2023. The prospect of getting to see her again brought Rob great comfort in his last days.
Unfortunately, Rob was saddled with many health issues in the past several years, causing him to spend substantial amounts of time under medical care at home, in hospitals, and in rehab facilities. Rob handled this reality with immense grace, befriending both staff and other patients in each of these situations. We thank each and every one who provided him comforting care, encouragement, and respect through these tough times. He was thankful every day for them.
Because Rob requested "a party with good food, an open bar, and rock and roll," the celebration will be held at Rob and Deborah's favorite place outside of their home, the Hamlin Pub in Shelby Twp, 42929 Hayes Rd on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 5-9pm. The family kindly requests RSVPs for the celebration of life. Please use the "Share a memory" feature on this obituary page to RSVP. On a desktop, you'll find it on the left side of the screen below Rob's photo. On a mobile device, it appears as a gray button located beneath his photo, name, and dates, and above the obituary text.
Additionally, if so inclined, the family requests that any donations be made to a program of your choosing that serves unhoused people (a personal passion of his) in Rob's honor in lieu of flowers or other gifts.
The love that Rob exuded and generated throughout his life was extremely evident in his final days in the hospital, where his room was constantly flooded and his phone blowing up with all "his people", reflecting the immense love and impact he had throughout his life. In his final days, Rob emphasized that material possessions, no matter how meaningful to him, were insignificant compared to the people with whom he shared his life. That single statement encapsulates the Rob that will endure in the hearts of all fortunate enough to have known him.
