Robert “Bob” Anthony Pastuszek, 77, of Wallingford, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, after a long, hard-fought battle against cancer. Bob lived life and worked up until days before his death, exhibiting his strong will, determination and strength.
Bob was the son of the late Joseph Pastuszek, Sr., Jenny Kahuy Pastuszek and Mary Salanik Beno Pastuszek.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, his “rock”, of 41 years, Mariaelena (née Staino) Pastuszek, and his daughter, Tara Pastuszek. He also leaves behind his siblings Darina Maggiori, Mary Andjeski, Thomas (Cathy) Pastuszek, and Christine Faul (Bill), and a very large extended family, including his in-laws who cherished him. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Pastuszek, Jr., sister Josephine Donohue, and stepbrother Steve Beno.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, Bob worked in the ship’s laundry room and ran the ship’s store. This was good training for the rest of his life as he ended up running a store and insisted on doing his own laundry!
Bob was co-owner of Joe’s Building and Plumbing Supplies in Chester, Pennsylvania, a family business established in 1948, where he worked side by side with his partner and late brother, Joe, and his nephew and Godson, Joseph Pastuszek III. Family and the lumber yard were his true passions. He dedicated his life to running the business and was a true staple in serving the community.
There is a national slogan which embodies the rich history of Chester, Pennsylvania….”What Chester Makes, Makes Chester”…. This also embodied Bob. His legacy is that he worked tirelessly, took care of his customers and was the heart of the lumber yard, the community and our family!
Bob loved sports, especially baseball, and was a lifelong Los Angeles Dodgers fan. With a heavy heart, we wish he could have lived to watch this next World Series and root for his favorite team.
Bob was a champion bowler in his youth, and met his future wife, Mariaelena, at a bowling alley. He was talented in music, playing piano and organ, even though he would not flaunt his virtuoso.
An avid casino-goer, he especially enjoyed slots and craps. Bob often beat the odds, and until his last breath, he still thought he could beat cancer….he was a champion.
If you ever had the chance to watch him and his wife on the dance floor, you would see magic. Bob led with grace, dignity, and a lot of pizazz.
Our love for him does not compare to the love he had for us…..
Relatives and friends are invited to remember Bob at a Viewing on Wednesday evening, October 29, 2025, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday morning, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by Words of Remembrance at 11:00 AM. Interment thereafter at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
