Robert E. “Bob” Pattee, 76, of Humboldt, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024, with his family by his side at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.
Bob was born June 20, 1948 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Edward and Helen (Sisterman) Pattee. He was raised as a farm kid near Avoca, Iowa and graduated from Avoca High School in 1966. Bob attended Yankton College where he obtained his Bachelor’s in Education, was three years All Conference in Football, four years on the Dean’s list and Senior Class President. Bob was united in marriage to Lynn E. Crawford on June 14, 1969 in Avoca. The couple made their home in Humboldt and Bob taught high school social studies, was the assistant football coach, coached basketball and was instrumental in starting girls basketball and track at Humboldt. It was in Humboldt that he and Lynn made lifelong friends. While in Humboldt Bob obtained his Master’s in Education from North East Missouri State. In 1978, the couple moved to Shenandoah where Bob served as assistant principal and also high school athletic director. In 1986, they returned to Humboldt and Bob became the Jr. High/Middle School Principal until retiring in 2012. In retirement, Bob worked for Josten’s Company as a way to stay connected with young people. He was passionate about his family, time with them at the cabin in Minnesota, fishing, loved football, was a Packers fan, a hard worker, fair, would not back down from a challenge and he and Lynn cherished time traveling to sporting events for their children and grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his children, Angie Pattee (Doyle Karsten) of Waseca, Minnesota and Andy (Allison) Pattee of Cedar Falls, his grandchildren; Jake Stockdale, Luke (Tiffany Russell) Stockdale, Anthony Pattee and Avery Pattee, his great-grandchildren Beau & Willow, two brothers Tom (Kathleen) Pattee of Avoca, Iowa and Dan (Bobette) Pattee of Frenchtown, Montana and three sisters Nancy McKeown of Omaha, Mary (Terry) Berticini of Oakland, Iowa and Julie (Todd) Karns of Carson, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lynn and grandson Alexander Robert Pattee.
Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 15th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Visitation will be from 12:30 until the time of the service, Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will take place later in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. www.masonlindhart.com
