Robert E. Percy

Robert E. Percy, 94, of Scottdale, a local retired educator, historian, coach, professional basketball player, family man, and father of three children, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025. Much of Bob's teaching life was devoted to giving his students info and facts that were required and relevant to their future success in real life. He spent many decades capturing and relating the experiences of Scottdale's veteran heroes in service to their country, with the intent of never letting history forget their sacrifices. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff at Woodcrest Senior Living for their caregiving to Bob and to Amedisys hospice staff in the recent weeks. The family also respectfully requests that those wishing to honor Bob's memory do so by remembering local veterans. A suggestion is to consider the purchase of Bob's book "Profiles of Service and Sacrifice," available through Scottdale Public Library, which receives all proceeds from the book. Interment will be in the Scottdale Cemetery with a private family service.
