Robert Pernes Obituary
Robert J. Pernes, 74, of Chenango Bridge, went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2016. He was predeceased by his parents, Gabriel & Elizabeth Pernes. He is survived by his loving wife, of 44 years, Josephine Pernes; children, Timothy & Sharon Pernes, Lori Pernes & John Mazar; grandchildren, Joshua, Bryan, Meagan, Tyler, Kyle and Sarah; one great grandchild, Joslyn; several nieces and nephews. Robert retired after 35 years of service at IBM. He and his wife, Josie enjoyed traveling cross country and playing golf together. They are long time members of the Genegantslet Golf Course. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations in his memory to the Mercy House, 212 N. McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.

Bob, Josie my wife Donna and myself played many rounds of golf in Florida the past several years. After golf, we always went to dinner. Of all the people I have played with through the years, I enjoyed Bob the most. His favorite quip was, "Are we having any fun yet?" We loved Bob and Josie and will miss him tremendously. Bob and I spent a number of years working together at IBM. Seems like a long time ago but I still have great memories of the "good old times" we shared.
