Robert Larelle "Bob" Perry

Robert "Bob" Larelle Perry ("Bob"), age 88, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, surrounded by family.

Bob was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Larelle Perry and Irene Thornblad Perry. He moved to Utah as a child and remained a lifelong resident, aside from a few cherished years spent in Montana. Utah was home, and the mountains were in his blood.

A true mountain man, Bob loved rendezvous gatherings, teepees, fishing, and hunting. Some of his happiest moments were spent quietly by a lake with a fishing line in the water, breathing in the stillness. He was an avid Utah Jazz fan and never shy about showing frustration when beloved players were traded away. His fishing stories-and the famous bear tooth story-will be remembered and retold for generations.

Bob worked for many years as a glazer and painter, contributing his skills to school districts and buildings throughout the Salt Lake City area. He was also a gifted artist, known for his detailed renderings of elk and deer, earning numerous ribbons at state fairs for his work.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Paula (Warkentine) Perry; his children, all residing in Utah: Mark Perry; Scott Perry; David Perry (Jamie); April Birmingham (Brandon); Brian Perry (Laneel); twins Jennifer Perry and Rusty Perry (Brittany); Michael Perry (JaNae); and stepson Matt Warkentine (Jenn). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren by marriage, 20 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Dee (Dave) Perry and his sister, Linda Thompson.

Bob is also remembered by his former stepchildren, whom he spent many years helping to raise: Tiffany, Jennifer, Greg, Amy, Stacy, and Amanda.

Viewing services will be held Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1250 East 4800 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. An additional viewing will be held Friday, February 6, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., followed by funeral services at the same location.
