Robert Collins Peters, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and veteran, passed away peacefully in 2026 at the age of 85.

He grew up in Philadelphia, overcoming extraordinary odds as a biracial child during a time of deep racial division. Through the U.S. Air Force, he found purpose and direction, training in electronic and radio communications. These skills would sustain him until his retirement.

The U.S.A.F. also took him to Okinawa, Japan, where he met and married Victoria. They started their life in the Philippines, but returned to Philadelphia to grow and raise their large family.

Robert was a man of discipline and fierce devotion to his family, whom he lovingly called “Peters Pride,” a name that reflected both the lion-like strength he instilled in his children and the pride he took in watching them grow. His lessons were tough but always rooted in love and belief in their potential. He stressed hard work, education, truthfulness, fairness and equality.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Victoria, his son Robert Jr., his mother Velma, and brothers Dean Sr. and John (“Junior”). He is survived by children: Doris, Gloria (Breck), Peg (Robert Jr’s spouse), Gerald (Shelly), Brian (Hetal), Charles, Michael (Tasha), Eric.

His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Lisa (Antwine), Corynne (wife, Alyz), Caelin, Ryan, Brooke, Collin, Dominic, Andrew, Victoria (Tori) and great-grandchildren: Kaiya and Nasir. He is also survived by his brother Ulysses (“Scoo”), his sister Cheri, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews and in-laws that loved him dearly.

Robert Collins Peters lived a life of dignity, resilience, and unwavering commitment to his family. His legacy lives on through every child he raised, every life he touched, and every lesson he passed on. Lessons that now guide the next generation.
