Robert Pickard Obituary

Robert (Bobby) Pickard, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on January 19, 2026, in Southaven, Mississippi. Born on February 18, 1949, in Macon, Georgia, Bobby embraced life with love and joy, leaving behind a legacy that touched many hearts.

For 36 wonderful years, Robert was married to his devoted wife, Renee, with whom he built a life filled with laughter and warmth. Together, they created a nurturing environment for their two children, Kristin and Ryan. Grandchildren, Nate and Nolen. Bobby was not only dad to Kristin and Ryan but also dad to many of their friends, who affectionately referred to him as "Dad" and later grew to call him "Da." Robert was a kind and gentle man, but also had great passion when something was important to him, which his family was.

Throughout his career, Bobby worked at White Rose Rental Laundry in Memphis and Pizza Hut in Mississippi. He was known by his wife for his sparkling blue eyes, a unique sense of humor, and a genuine kindness that could start a conversation with anyone he met. He could light up the room with his presence, making everyone feel welcomed and valued.

Bobby’s pride in his family shone brightly, as he cherished each moment spent with them. He had a particular fondness for lollipops, Coca-Cola, Hershey bars, and Reese's cups, sweet treats that matched his delightful personality. Robert loved music, he could tell you the names of the bands, the band members and the songs. Renee remembers riding in the car with Robert and him saying can we have some music? Robert also could take his family anywhere when traveling never getting lost with his ability to read a map. His love for nature was evident; Bobby found beauty in the simplest things—a bluebird here, a ladybug there, and a sunset that could take one's breath away. Whether riding his bike with Mandy in his early years, playing tennis or walking his little Yorkie, Sugar in his later years, he found joy in every experience.

Bobby's strong spirit and gentle heart resonated throughout his life. His faith in the Lord was steadfast, providing him comfort and guidance. In heaven, he is perhaps bagging pecans with his father, John, just as he use to do under the shade of his parents' carport.

He leaves behind a loving family: his wife, Renee Pickard; daughter, Kristin Pickard; son, Ryan Pickard; brother, Rusty; sisters, Betty and Lynn; and a host of family and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.

As we gather to celebrate his life, we reflect on Bobby’s proudest accomplishments: his family and the extended circle of children who called him dad or "Da". The light he brought into this world will forever shine in our memories.

A funeral service will be held at The Carter Memorial Chapel at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven on February 4, 2026, starting at 12:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens. Bobby, your spirit remains a guiding light, and we are forever grateful to have had you in our lives.

We Will Miss you "Da",  We Will not be the same, We Will carry you forever in our hearts.
