Robert Edward Prétat, jr, of Wesley Chapel, died at Blue Heron Assisted Living on Saturday, September 6th of natural causes. He was born on April 27, 1926 to Robert E. Prétat, Sr. and Georgette Renée de St Mart Prétat in New Port Richey, Florida. He proudly served in the U. S. Navy, graduated with a Master of Science from Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College at twenty-two as a civil engineer and worked for General Portland Cement Company for his entire career. He loved his years at Dartmouth and returned for many reunions, the last being his 70th in 2016. Bob was fortunate to have two great loves in his life. First, his wife, Donna. and mother of his daughter, Linda, whom he was married to for fifty-one years before she passed. Meeting Carol, allowed him a second chapter of love, filled with world-wide travel, homes in different states, and an expanded family to nurture for the past twenty years. He is survived by his partner, Carol, sister, Barbara, daughter, Linda (Lynn), granddaughter Jessica (Mark), grandson Michael, Carol's son, Robert (Kim), daughter, Julia, grandchildren Tiffany (Mark), Robert (Suzanne), Jevan, Chayton, and many, many nephews, nieces, and cousins he engaged with often. Tracking the Prétat and de St Mart family history was a challenge for Bob for many decades, resulting in the publishing of a book and family trees, shared with dozens of family members. Services will be held at Florida National Cemetery, in Bushnell, Florida on September, 22, 2025 at 9:30am.
