Sue,
Many years ago I walked into your store on King Street as I always liked and still like the traditional look. I started chatting with Bob and you and he invited my wife and me to see your house. How gracious! We kept in touch and, at one point, there was a picture in your catalog of a friend and me in tuxedos, with my friend's dog, all 3 of us in Ben Silver bow ties. I have made purchases over the years on line and one again visiting the store. I have such fond memories of the two of you and noticed in the catalogs the absence of the picture and message of you both. While we have not been in contact, I have such vivid and good memories. My sincere condolences.

Bob was a jovial fraternity brother at ZBT at Columbia and an all around good guy.
Rest in Peace.

Bob and Doug met in 1959 when they became fraternity brothers at Columbia and when Bob needed some clothing he took him to Brooks Brothers and Paul Stuart. Bob teased him that he helped put him in business. They spoke pretty much every month for years. Doug watched the funeral on livestream today and everything they said about him was true...........I type this with a box of kleenex at my side. Dear Sue................you had a wonderful husband for the 59 years you were together.

My condolences to Mr. Prenner's family. I was quite surprised upon reading this notice that Mr. Prenner was in fact Ben Silver and that in the elegant catalogues I get periodically, he modeled the clothing. This was quite an accomplished life and a worthy tribute.
