Robert’s life began on September 22, 1946, in Marion, KS. He was the son of William Hurshel and Lois (Kelsey) Raleigh. Robert was a 1965 graduate of Marion High School. He was united in marriage to Mary (Schafers) Raleigh on December 10, 1997, in Marion, KS. Bob was the Marion County noxious weed director, he also worked for many years for the City of Marion in electrical maintenance and at the water plant in Marion. He was a parishioner at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Marion. Bob enjoyed fishing and pontoon boating at the Marion Reservoir as well as golf cart rides around the lake. He was an expert on the grill and especially enjoyed his Monday night poker games. If there was a card game, conversation, sporting event or cold beverage that’s where you’d find him, surround by family and friends enjoying all life’s blessings.
He is survived by his wife Mary of Marion; sons Gary (Jalena) Raleigh of Valley Center and Mark (Michelle) Raleigh of Watertown, NY; stepdaughter Nicole Stephenson; grandchildren Mitch (Lexi) Raleigh, Cole (Naussica) Collins, Shannah Collins, Kelsey Raleigh, Zach Raleigh, step grandchildren Rebeka Stephenson, Hannah Stephenson, and J T Stephenson; great grandchildren Walker and Mallory Collins. Bob passed away on Friday February 28, 2025, at St. Lukes Living Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Amy Raleigh and brother Terry Raleigh. His family will gather with friends on Thursday March 6, 2025, from 6-7 p.m. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Marion where his Vigil service will begin at 7 p.m. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday March 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the church, led by Father Isaac Coulter. Robert will be laid to rest in Marion Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name to Holy Family Parish, St. Mark’s Church.
