Robert Rapant

Robert Rapant, age 61 passed away unexpectedly on Sunday October 26, 2025. Born in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of the late Robert and Madeline Rapant. Robert spent his formative years in Duanesburg, NY. Robert, also known as Bob, graduated from Lemoyne College pursuing a career in Accounting before settling in Pittsfield, MA with his wife Stacey and two children Samantha and Harrison. In Pittsfield, he started Adirondack Payroll which served hundreds of clients in Berkshire County and the Northeast.
Bob was a decorated canoe racer and athlete, who mastered his craft well before sunrise on the Housatonic River or Stockbridge Bowl, developing his closest friendships in the process. Bob's favorite achievement in life was his children, and to whomever would listen knew how proud he was of them every single day. Bob was their biggest cheerleader, from driving them up and down the Mass Pike to all of their sporting events growing up, to then driving hours all over New England being their number one fan at the collegiate level.
Bob is survived by his daughter Samantha of Colorado, his son, Harrison (Shelby) Rapant of North Carolina, his Grandson William Rapant of North Carolina, and his sister Kimberley (Tom) Labelle of New York. Bob will be remembered for his intense work ethic, reserved nature, and devotion to those close to him. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His Family will be receiving guests at Mazzeo's Restaurant in Pittsfield, MA on Thursday, November 13th from 12-2PM, open to the public. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to Berkshire Community Rowing or Holyoke Rows and mailed to Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
