Robert was born August 6, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Virgil and Lillian (Johnson) Ratza. Robert was a proud graduate of Millington High School, where he laid the foundation for a life dedicated to hard work and service. He spent many years in the grocery business, contributing his skills and dedication to well-known establishments such as A&P, Vesico's, Hickory Meat Block, and ultimately retiring from Simons IGA. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his passion for helping others. A devoted member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, Rob's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He not only found solace in his beliefs but also shared his love for community and fellowship with those around him. In his spare time, Robert cherished the simple pleasures of life. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, relishing the tranquility of nature. He also enjoyed visiting the casino, spending leisurely hours with friends and family. One of his greatest joys was tending to his lawn and transforming his home into a winter wonderland each Christmas, decorating it with an array of lights that brought joy to everyone in the neighborhood.
Surviving are: Niece, Kimberly (Thomas) Moskal; he was blessed with several cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Jack Ratza; Parents, Virgil and Lillian Ratza; Grandparents: Walt and Mary List.
