Marjorie Goodwin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Voran Funeral Home - Dearborn Chapel on Feb. 18, 2026.
Marjorie Ruth Goodwin, affectionately known as Margie, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 94 in Dearborn, Michigan. Born in Chesaning, and raising her children in Montrose, Michigan with husband, Don, Margie's life was a tapestry of dedication to her family and community.

Margie's strong work ethic shone through her work at GM, Sparrow Hospital, Gene's Market, Peet's Packing Company, and the Montrose Community Schools Cafeteria. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, her mischievous smile and unwavering support.

Family was the cornerstone of Margie's life. She brought joy and comfort to those she loved. Predeceased by her devoted husband, Donald, and by siblings Eugene (Millie), Ray (Mary Ellen), Marian (Bob), and Oliver (Beverly), she left behind a legacy of love. Margie's spirit lives on through her children Kathryn (Kenneth), Elizabeth (Fred), Jeannette (John), and James (Teresa); as well as through her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and her adored grandchildren Jared (Joe), Kyle, Seth (Samantha), Emily (Aaron), Abby, Ryan (Gretchen), Evan (Addy), Elijah, Ethan (Gia), Zachary; and her great-grandchildren, Forest and Margo.

Margie found solace in the simplicity of working in her yard and bird watching. She had a deep connection to nature and all living things.

Raised Catholic, Margie embraced a broader spiritual perspective in her later years, declaring, "I am ALL DENOMINATIONAL." This openness to the world and its various beliefs was a testament to her inclusive and loving nature.

Margie was a beacon of the importance of family, emphasizing that her goal as a parent was for all her children to get along with one another and be ready to take on the world. A memorial service is being planned for a future date.
