Robert “Bob” Harold Raymond of Loma, CO went home to our heavenly father on November 22, 2025, at the age of 92.

Bob was born to Wilbur and Ethelle Raymond on February 21st, 1933, in Collbran, CO on a ranch up Grove Creek. The family moved to Climax, CO in 1936 and lived there through second grade. His family then moved to Grand Junction where Bob attended the old Pear Park School. In 1941, they moved to the current family farm in Loma, CO where Bob attended Loma School, Fruita Junior High, and Fruita Union High School.

His family raised sugar beets using teams of horses and raised turkeys. In 1946 they started milking cows, selling milk in Fruita then to Clymer’s Dairy in Grand Junction.

During his senior year of high school, Bob drove school bus as well as played football, ran track, was in band, dramatics club, and the “F” club. Bob graduated from Fruita Union High School in 1951.

On October 3, 1954, Bob married the love of his life Helen Baker. They welcomed their first daughter, Vicki, in 1956. Soon after Linda was born in 1957 and in 1960, they had their son Edward.

They continued to milk cows and farm over five hundred acres of land. They also pastured their yearlings in Carbondale and then Telluride. In Telluride, the cows were known as The Valley Cows, earning their own comic strip in the local paper. For 22 years they won awards for superior and excellent quality milk.

Bob sold milking equipment for Surge for over 20 years which gave them the opportunity to travel to numerous places including, Jamaica, Greece, and Brazil. They also traveled to Australia, Germany, Japan, and other places around the world. They spent five summers traveling to and fishing around Alaska, Bob’s favorite place.

Bob loved his family. As a family they went skiing, camping, hunting, and fishing around Colorado and Utah. During the summer they kept their camper on the Grand Mesa for over 40 years at the Frost Campground. For over 50 years he and his family packed hunting camp 8 miles into the South Fork of the White River to go elk hunting. Bob and Helen also took all their grandchildren to Disneyland, the Grand Canyon, and Sea World.

Bob was a member of the Grand Valley Irrigation Company Board of Directors for 35 years, serving as President from 1998 to 2023. While on the board, Bob helped secure grants for multiple projects, including salinity control and fish ladders.

He leaves behind his wife, Helen Raymond, daughters, Vicki Clifton of Collbran, Linda (Craig) Moores of Gateway and son Ed (Grete) Raymond of Loma, his brother Darrell (Roberta) Raymond of Palisade as well as nine grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Ethelle Raymond, brother William Raymond, and son-in-law Leland Clifton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday December 13th at 9:00am at Northeast Christian Church 2001 Patterson Rd. in Grand Junction, Colorado.
