Robert Wayne Redding , a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, passed away April 23rd, 2024, in Saint George, Utah.

Bob was born September 29, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Alfred Bart Redding and Elizabeth May Austin. Bob graduated from Marysville High School in 1959, and began working at Blackwelders Manufacturing. He then worked for Chevron for the next 36 years of his life, which he was very proud of. He retired in 1999 and enjoyed retirement, traveling and visiting family spread out across the country.

Bob met the love of his life, Janette Smart, through her brother and they were married in Reno, Nevada, on March 23, 1962. For a good part of their married life, Bob and Jan lived in Rio Vista, California, where Bob had many friends and was involved in Little League Baseball and served for many years as a volunteer firefighter. He enjoyed his service with the fire department and the family and friends he had there very much. He later moved to Saint George where he and Jan spent the last 20 years so they could be closer to their children and grandchildren.

Bob loved camping, fishing, water skiing, gardening, photography, and had many hobbies that he developed in his retirement years. Most of all he enjoyed just spending time with his sweetheart, Jan.

Bob loved his family. He loved watching his sons play their sports and loved helping coach them. He is survived by his wife, Jan, of 62 years, his sons Ken (Marci) and Scott (Rachel), 3 grandchildren Taylor (Katie), Tanner (Shaylyn), and Kennedy Eschenberg (Zach), and 6 great-grandchildren with two more on the way.

Bob was always known for showing up on time and being ready to work. Doing what you say you were going to do and following through and doing it was always important to him.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. Lakeview Drive in Bountiful.
